gospel/kodan armada - a split 10" (2004)

great split by two of the best screamo bands of all time imo. coppers is probably my favorite kodan armada track, possibly tied with "no has never had three letters". the gospel side of this split is fantastic as well, everything that band did is gold imo. moon is a dead world is an incredibly impressive record both musically and emotionally, and i highly suggest it to anyone (two of the tracks on this split are also featured on that full length.

i love how in depth kodan armada always went with their inserts and lyric sheets, the amount of time that went into some of the stuff they put out is very impressive, particularly the pretty faces split from 2004 that has close to 30-50 pages worth of art and lyric stuff + various other inserts, which i will be posting scans of in the future, more than likely broken up into 4 or 5 posts.

portraits of past/bleed split (1994)

portraits of past was one of the first, and imo, one of the best screamo bands of all time, releasing a fantastic full length in 1996, and later on, releasing another solid ep in 2009. while their material is fairly limited for as important and influential as they were, it is definitely a case of quality over quantity. bleed was an incredibly intense and fast band, and like their frantic and spastic songwriting, only existed for a couple of years in the mid 90s. on this split, each band offers two songs a piece, with the total runtime of the ep ending up at just a little over 9 minutes. fantastic split with some really interesting inserts, something that you can expect from any ebullition release.

kodan armada/what's yr damage split (2004)

one of my favorite kodan armada tracks is featured on this split. vocals are absolutely ridiculous. whats yr damage was a weird noise/screamo/whatever band i believe from florida or somewhere in that area. really cool stuff regardless. i couldn't find a rip of this online but here's a link to the kodan armada track on this record.

anasarca - east bunk hill/eugene debs (1995)

very good release by a band far more influential and important than most people may be aware of. members of saetia have cited them as their main influence and in listening to this, you can tell how saetia's sound was strongly derived from what material anasarca released in their short existence. also good to note that the artwork on the labels for this record is fantastic. always love when that extra attention is given to the design of a record.

pg.99 document #5 (cd version) (2000)

my personal favorite release from pg.99. document #8 tends to get the most love, and while that record is fantastic in its own right, very few screamo albums impress me in the manner that this one does. by the fireplace in white is one of the best songs ever recorded imo.

kodan armada/montcalm split (2003)

fantastic split, this record was my introduction to montcalm as a band, who i've always perceived to be very underrated. montcalm features stephen from ampere and aerosols, two other really great bands (screamo and hc punk, respectively). this record had 4 pressings, all from brightskull/thrown brick records. first 3 pressings were released with a screenprinted plastic sleeve and a pink felt cover, whereas the last pressing was just a printed paper cover. this was the first record I ever collected every pressing of, after about a year of searching online back in 2015 or so. great record with 3 great tracks on it, as well as a bunch of interesting things to read in the inserts.
